Early Literacy Tips

This is a Get Ready to Read two-hour online course covering foundations of early literacy is available for daycare providers, early educators, caregivers and parents. It is free. Two continuing education credits and a certificate are available upon successful completion of this 2 hour course.

The Bryan & College Station Library’s Ready to Read Course covers the six foundational skills essential for reading readiness in children 0-6:

  • Vocabulary
  • Print Motivation
  • Print Awareness
  • Phoneme Awareness
  • Narrative (story) Skills
  • Letter Identification
